Valerie + Paul: An October wedding in East Haddam, CT

This was one of those October days that would make you trade May, June and part of September all for more October days. Warm and balmy with a slight breeze, and the glorious fall colors at full peak on the rolling hills of East Haddam, CT. The only thing that would make it more perfect? An outdoor wedding in October. Originally thinking they’d be indoors, we took one look outside, grabbed some mums and made an impromptu outdoor chapel on the bluestone terrace.

Valerie and Paul are the lucky ones—they met at a singles opportunity, Valerie’s first and Paul’s second! They soon retired from that social outlet, having found the ideal partner. They planned a small wedding for this fall at On the Rocks, the beautiful restaurant and clubhouse at Fox Hopyard, a golf course in East Haddam, CT. With the always inspirational Marie Wiley as their officiant, they were married in the presence of their very nearest and dearest, and then took a walk with me for a few photos before their celebration dinner.
