Romantic anniversary surprise at Napatree Beach in Watch Hill, RI

Mike and Renee were about to celebrate the big 20, as in years that they’ve been Mr. and Mrs., and Mike had a big plan up his sleeve.

They were engaged at Napatree Point, more than 20 years ago, and why not go for a romantic walk on the beach before dinner, right?

Or….why not just call the crack team at Gourmet Galley and actually HAVE dinner on the beach?

So the plan was launched. With thunderstorms in the forecast, all of us on Team Anniversary Surprise were on speed dial. The skies brightened, the sun shone, and it was a perfect, summery night in beautiful Watch Hill to pull off a fabulous surprise on the beach.

Trish at Gourmet Galley outdid herself, preparing a gorgeous table for our couple several dunes away from her transporation.

I hid behind some grass and a dune fence, and waited for them to arrive.

She was surprised, all right! It was all a bit overwhelming, and she took a moment for a few tears.

Mike does a little “I pulled it off!” jig, then returns to his emotional wife to offer comfort and….to tell her to turn around!

Surprise! A stalking photographer as WELL as a super romantic dinner on the beach! We took a few photos in the soft light before they sat down to enjoy their meal.
