Lindsay + Teddy: Married at Saltwater Farm Vineyard
If the old adage about rainy day weddings being good luck for the marriage is true, Lindsay and Teddy have a lifetime of good luck ahead of them! They tied the knot in a beautiful, intimate ceremony at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in early October. The rain fell all day outside, so the ceremony was moved indoors, overlooking the lush green vines through the wall of windows. (Lucky bride and groom, we said, to have such a lovely rain option! Saltwater Farm Vineyard couples, take note!)
Lindsay and Teddy met at work at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2010—Lindsay was working as a nurse, and Teddy was working as a truama technician. Lindsay tells the story with some foreshadowing, “Teddy was goofing around made me an engagement ring out of trauma tape, and proposed to me in the middle of the Emergency Department – I said yes, but we just remained friends!” The two lost touch for a bit when Teddy went to Afghanistan for the Army in 2011, but rekindled their friendship writing to each other while he was away. She went to see him the night he came home from Afghanistan, and well, they’ve been happily together ever since.
“I said yes to him again when he asked me to marry him for real!” Lindsay laughs.
Teddy loves Lindsay’s smile, and how important her family is to her. “She just has a really beautiful heart, it’s amazing,” he says. “And she has the prettiest blue eyes!” As for Lindsday, she adores his sense of humor, and how he just keeps her laughing all day long. “I love his amazing brown eyes, too,” she says.
When they get to be together, they spend a lot of time at home. The both adore their dog, Winston, “we’re a little obsessed with taking him for walks, to the dog park or swimming,” she confesses. “We also spend a lot of time watching movies together and just sitting outside drinking coffee; we are total home-bodies!”
Seeing these two come together after their time apart for their ceremony and reception was electric—they are so clearly made for each other, and the friends and family around them are well aware of their beautiful connection. They are game for anything and everything—lucky for us, since they were willing to do outdoor portraits on their rainy wedding day!
Thank you to my associate, Julia, who took many of these lovely photos here.
Happy love, Lindsday and Teddy!
