Julie + Kevin: A romantic black-tie wedding in Greenwich
Julie and Kevin grew up in the same town (but didn’t meet until after college when out with friends right before Thanksgiving), they live in NYC but love traveling everywhere and, perhaps my favorite fact about them? They love waffle trucks! “It’s our guilty pleasure,” Julie confessed.
While they didn’t have a waffle truck appear at their elegant Greenwich wedding, they did have many of those same friends with them to celebrate, and celebrate they did! It was a loving affair, from the personal Mass at St. Mary’s of Greenwich to the reception, filled with heart-felt toasts, fantastic music, dancing and food, and even a Notre Dame grooms’ cake for Kevin.
They both got ready with their wedding party at J-House Greenwich–the stationery set the stage for their truly elegant affair, in shades of grey, navy and cream.
Kevin’s headphones were a gift from his bride–noise-canceling ones to accompany them on the flight to Argentina for their honeymoon.
Julie’s simple and elegant gown had just the right amount of sparkle to partner with her gorgeous accessories.
Beautiful bridesmaids in muted gray lace.
Finishing touches with mom and maids, and off to the church!
I was so glad Julie’s family grabbed me for this moment!
Sometimes it’s really hard to be a ring bearer.
Julie and Kevin were married by a dear family friend on Kevin’s side, from his family’s long association with Fairfield Prep.
The newly married couple left the church surrounded by bubbles on all sides!
This stunning detail from Julie’s gown and florals is one of my favorites of the day!
After photos, guests gathered on the terrace overlooking Greenwich Harbor for a spectacular sunset during cocktail hour.
Beautiful toasts led to more than a few happy tears.
I think it is no exaggeration to say that nearly everyone was on the floor dancing to the sounds of Atomic Funk Project.
And I may have been a little teary myself when the gathered group sang “God Bless America”– a family tradition–to close out the evening.
Happy love, Julie and Kevin! xo, Anna
