Elissa + Colin: A Summer Wedding in Mystic
Westerly sweethearts Elissa and Colin got engaged earlier this year, and decided there was no need to wait for long! They gathered a small circle of their very nearest and dearest for a week’s getaway at the stunning Stone House in Mystic, and planned a simple and heartfelt wedding ceremony in nearby Westerly involving the whole family.
The backdrop of Stone House for getting ready is AMAZING. The light, the architecture, the space–I highly recommend it as a home base for those having a Mystic wedding, a Stonington wedding or a Westerly wedding.
I adored everything about Elissa’s wedding day garb, but COME ON, the red wedges!? IDEAL.
The bride, simply gorgeous. The floral design by Morgan Arnold carried the day, echoing the elegant touches of red elsewhere.
Colin and Elissa both got ready at Stone House, but waited til they were all dressed for the big reveal. It was fun for them to have a brief chat without spotting each other!
Colin was attended by his siblings who took care in all the details of his wedding-day attire.
First look in the dappled August sunshine, then we spent some time on portraits for these two.
My favorite stop was our brief session at Savoy Bookstore in Westerly. Elissa oversees the events for Savoy and Bank Square Books, so her colleagues were tickled to have them visit in their finery.
Dave’s iced coffee for all of us on this summery day in Westerly!
Strolling through their adopted hometown of Westerly was the perfect accompaniment to their wedding day.
After portraits, the family gathered for an outdoor ceremony under the bluest sky.
Colin’s brother officiated as their family gathered close.
Elissa and Colin, it was such an honor to be part of this amazing day. Happy love!
