Christina + Billy: A Sept. Wedding at Mystic Seaport

Oh, I just loved this wedding! This couple has probably made me laugh more than any other this year–they are so funny, both separately and together, and I knew their wedding day would be a hoot, as they might say in their adopted southern state.

Christina and Billy met in 2009 in Hartford, and had a few memorable first dates to kick off their relationship. “Our first date was at Starbucks on a purple velvet couch – Billy had the swine flu. (We kept arms length.).” Their second date was equally unusual– they visited Planet Fitness together for a solid hour of cardio, followed by dinner.

Christina says, “I knew it was meant to be if this boy was willing to give me the time of day both with a severe illness and see me at my disgustingly, sweaty worst. But more importantly learning how big his heart was, having his family welcome me with open arms, and become excited about a future with this great guy – I knew it was meant to be.” Pretty sweet, eh?

I love how much fun they have together. They love to go to NYC, choose a food theme and go crazy. They highly recommend Donut Plant in Chelsea–these same donuts made an appearance on their wedding day, of course. Their sweet pup Lina came to their engagement session–she’s a Swiss Mountain Dog / Charpei mix, and one of the family.

Their Mystic Seaport wedding was a beautiful, rustic, nautical, fun celebration of their partnership, with great food, of course. Now if only we had found a purple couch to bring to the reception!
