Carole + Dave: Married at Stonington’s Lighthouse Point

These two went pretty much all local for their outdoor Stonington Lighthouse Point wedding, even finding me on Instagram (you, too can enjoy my diligent oversharing of half-marathon training, Stonington scenes and Portuguese Water Dogs at www.instagram.com/annasawinphoto) to be their wedding photographer! And with good reason–Stonington Boro is a family tradition for Carole and Dave, and having their wedding ceremony on the lighthouse lawn was an essential part of their emotional, happy day.

Carole dressed with help of her sister and with two helpful felines looking on in her family’s Stonington home. The dried flowered bouquets were the perfect, easy complement to the bridesmaids in their navy and white dresses, and Carole’s simple gown.

We did pictures with friends and family with the blue water and blue sky as a backdrop, and we saw multiple sailboats, a barge with construction crane, a tow boat, multiple power boats and a garbage barge all go by within just a few minutes. The sailboats I was happy to capture in the background; the garbage barge not so much!

After the ceremony (and emotional tears from, mom, grandma and all the bridesmaids in unision), the guests enjoyed cold drinks and a mix and mingle on the lawn overlooking Little Narragansett Bay before we headed over to Mystic Seaport and their reception at Latitude 41.

The reception was a family affair, just like the ceremony, with a suprise song from her sister and good friend, and music played by another family member. As the sun set, one of the most brilliant sunsets skies I have seen all season arrived, with pinks and oranges and blues. It was as if nature’s own fireworks had arrived to celbrate the wedding of Carole and Dave.
