Cait and Nate: A summer’s wedding at Red Maple Vineyard
This darling Hudson River Valley wedding was held on a summer day north of 90 degrees, but this relationship had a very auspicious start on a much colder day, all thanks to a thoughtful and brilliant friend. Caitlin’s friend Megan thought Nate and Cait would be a good match, so one freezing January night, the two met up in New York at The Cellar at Beecher’s. “I approached him with a hand shake,” said Cait. “He told me ‘I’m a hugger,’ and pulled me in for a warm, cozy, friendly hug. We spent that night talking for hours. At that time I knew I either wanted him to be my best friend or boyfriend, but it wasn’t until our third date that I knew which one I wanted. We have truly been together and in love since that day.”
Their wedding was filled with personal touches, from the warm and lovely wedding party, the handmade details, and this photographer’s favorite: the bridesmaid shirts with their names ON THEM.
The shirts! (And they have shorts on. It just doesn’t look that way.)
Cait had a special touch for her dad’s tie.
Nate and Cait were married by one of her mother’s dearest friends, and the mother of one of Caitlin’s dearest friends as well. The hilltop ceremony was gorgeously framed with a view of the Hudson. Horse photos! A special treat for this couple.
The warm summer breezes wafted across the vineyard as guests adjourned to the garden tent for dinner.
The tall grasses on the hillside were a special favorite for this couple.
“We are lovey, silly, happy people who feel like we found our other half. We have been inseparable since almost immediately after we first met. Our friends consider us the couple that is so cute it’s sometimes repulsing. We embrace it,” laughs Cait.
The custom cornhole game echoes a gorgeous photo taken of the couple near their Brooklyn home by one of Cait’s bridesmaids.
Anyone in their presence notices the special glances these two share all the time. Their connection is so strong and loving, it’s a marvel to witness. “We are completely, shamelessly, and over the top in love with each other,” confesses Cait. “A line in our first dance is ‘Nobody sees what we see, they’re just hopelessly gazing.'”
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness,
happy love!
