Behind the scenes: Maker’s Mark and St. Patrick’s Day!

A few weeks ago I got the call for a fantastic assignment: was I interested in partnering with the principal of a well-known local creative agency on a photo shoot celebrating a very unique subject?

I was game, but not too much could have prepared me for how cute my subject was.

Meet 16-week old black lab puppy, Hashtag (#). 

He was as cooperative as he know how to be–and a large stash of treats didn’t hurt, either.

We embarked on a shoot in a old-fashioned duckpin bowling alley and a vintage pub on the New London waterfront. And, since St. Patrick’s Day was near, Hashtag was styled with a green tie and a wee bit o’ Makers Mark, but we assure you, no puppies were harmed during this session. The real secret to getting a puppy to sniff a snifter? His savvy mama saved one of the most succulent treats of all, and stashed it behind the Maker’s Mark bottle!

All quiet on the set, as we wait for the talent.

The initial indifference.

Then, in a flash: “Is that a treat I smell?”
