Karyn + Peter: A summer wedding at Saltwater Farm Vineyard
Karyn and Peter have been a couple for nearly nine years, so their wedding day this summer was a long awaited source of joy for both sides of their family. The two met in college, when she was a sophomore and he was a junior at UCONN, which inspired their wedding hashtag, #MeetTheHuskieZs.
“I love his thoughtfulness, kindness, and selflessness, among many other things,” says Karyn about her groom, while Peter says, “I love Karyn’s drive and determination.”
Nine years together hasn’t always been in the same place, though. Peter has been away for nearly two years of training for the Air Force in Alabama, Texas and Arkansas while Karyn has been living and working in Connecticut. “We’ve been looking forward to this day for a very long time and are extremely excited to be with each other and share our love with our family and friends,” she says of their Stonington wedding.

The ring bearers traveled down the aisle on four wheels, while Karyn and her dad followed on foot.
Karyn, a social worker and a former UCONN soccer player, has been coaching girls soccer for the last five years. Some of her recent athletes joined them for the ceremony!

After dinner, we went outside for some photos of the couple in the soft light of early evening. It had been an exceptionally hot summer day, and we all watched with amazement as a thunderstorm traveled north of Saltwater Farm Vineyard, turning the sky amazing shades of purple and pink.
